Today (24 April 2025), Bangkok announced a new law controlling pet keeping, which will take effect on 10 January 2026, to promote animal welfare and public safety in the city. The law requires pet owners to register their animals, vaccinate them against diseases such as rabies, and control their animals’ behavior in public, such as keeping them on leashes and cleaning up after them.
